A Tell Perhaps Not Worth Telling After A While
Like most story-based games from Telltale Games, the idea starts off fresh and exciting. Towards the end of the first season of releases and absolutely into the second season, though, things began to tale off. Users can quickly spot the plotline unfolding in front of them, and there was nothing like the same creativity or invention in the writing, set pieces, or events that would take place.
Most of the writing becomes paint-by-numbers humour and loses much of the charm and freshness that made the first few episodes so good. Indeed, ratings for the first season often jumped from impressive to mediocre, and the second season was also seen as a poor use of the IP. Though the ideas were often quite fresh, and the last couple episodes were actually some of the most well-loved, it lacked the longevity that came with some of the other Telltale games, such as Tales From The Borderlands.
Overall, though, its a fun enough jaunt through a world built in the image of Minecraft.
Much like other spin-offs like Minecraft Dungeon, though, it was perhaps a little too light when it came to depth, replayability, and general fun for the gamer. With the stories quickly fading into boring subplots, there wasnt the ability for Minecraft Story Mode to stand on its own two feet after a while.
- A fun concept, building on the Minecraft IP
- Smart use of worldbuilding with kid-friendly stories
- Operating systems: Windows 10/Windows 8/Windows 7/2000/Vista/WinXP

Youll Still Be Able To Download Minecraft: Story Mode If You Bought It On Gog
Minecraft: Story Mode will continue to be available for download if you purchased it on GOG.
Minecraft: Story Mode alongside many other Telltale games has been removed from sale on digital storefronts after the developers closure. Last week, Minecraft proprietor Mojang put out a statement which suggested that the Story Mode series would no longer be available for download after June 25, even if youd already purchased them.
It seems that GOG will be an exception, as a forum post explains that in our publisher agreements we make sure that delisted games remain available to users who bought them. Mojangs original statement mentions no specific PC storefronts, only listing out the hardware platforms the game has released on.
The GOG post continues, Minecraft: Story Mode, as well as others on GOG.COM, will be available for those customers who purchased them before and will be downloadable both through GOG GALAXY client and DRM-free installers. Feel free to download it and play anytime you want. If any technical issues appear, you can contact GOG Support directly and well do our best to help you.
Mojangs statement was worded just vaguely enough to be confusing, but the message urged customers who have purchased either or both seasons of Minecraft: Story Mode on any platform to download any remaining episodes before the deadline this month.

Minecraft Story Mode Download Overview
Minecraft: Story Mode is another expansion to the game arrangement that takes the fun of Minecraft and transforms it into a progression of short scenes. Frequently called one of the top structure rounds ever, Minecraft is an open-world game that lets you assemble things dependent on the blocks that you find and the articles that you open. The engineers of two hit PC games made Minecraft: Story Mode for players who love the first game and the individuals who like more limited and more rambling games.
The game takes you on an exciting experience and begins with an outing to EnderCon. You discover that something turned out badly and that fear continue assaulting characters inside the Minecraft world. On the off chance that you cant end their devastation, they will inevitably cut down the whole world around you.
While it sounds energizing, Minecraft: Story Mode truly doesnt give players a great deal to do. A lot of what occurs on screen happens in more limited or longer cut scenes. You see your character collaborating with others, yet you dont have a great deal of opportunities to get things done all alone. Despite the fact that it accompanies some inherent difficulties and riddles, there arent close to the same number of as you would anticipate. It likewise gets rid of the structure components that made Minecraft such a triumph.

Closure Of Telltale Games
In November 2018, Telltale Games began the process of closing down the studio due to financial issues. Most of its games started to become delisted from digital storefronts, including Minecraft: Story Mode. According to GOG.com, they had to pull the title due to “expiring licensing rights”. The Minecraft team stated that even for those that had purchased the titles before their delisting, the episodes would no longer be downloadable after June 2019. Because the Xbox Live Marketplace does not allow for removing games from sale while at the same time allowing existing owners to download the game, each episode of the game’s Xbox 360 version was repriced to $100 in the few weeks ahead of the delisting to deter users from purchasing them.
Minecraft: Story Mode received “mixed or average reviews” from critics, with the Nintendo Switch version earning a weighted average of 67 based on 5 critics.

Is Minecraft: Story Mode Safe For My Kids
Due to its lack of interactive elements and the fact that the game contains minimal violence and mature themes, Minecraft: Story Mode is safe for users aged 10 or older with parental supervision. However, there is currently no age verification process in place to either download the app or create an account.
Parents should know that while the app does not contain any overt mature themes, there is some mild swearing and small acts of cartoon violence. Unrealistic depictions of weapons can occasionally be seen, including the representation of swords. While many players are able to see the differences between the weapons in the game and in real life, parents should execute caution if they are worried about their child blurring the distinctions.
It is important to note that the app does not contain any interactive elements, thus reducing the risk of your child coming into contact with Internet predators or having inappropriate conversations with strangers.
As with all video games, it is important to monitor how much time your child spends using the app. Make sure to discuss with them the dangers of developing a gaming addiction, and the importance of setting limits for how often they play.
What Is Minecraft: Story Mode
Minecraft: Story Mode is an interactive gaming app that allows users to play as a character, Jesse, in order to search the Overworld for an important item, known as the Order of the Stone.
It can be downloaded for free in both iTunes and Google Play, but does offer in-app purchases in order to advance to different levels. In Google Play, Minecraft: Story Mode is rated for everyone ages 10 and older and in iTunes, this app is rated for users over 9 years old.
Once the app is downloaded and users have created an account, they can then begin their quest. Players are joined by other fictional characters in the app, who are there to help them discover clues and ultimately save the games world from destruction. While the first goal of the game is to find the legendary Gabriel the Warrior, horrific events then take place, causing players to shift their focus to finding the Order of the Stone.
Although the app is free to download, users are only able to play the first few levels for free without making any in-app purchases. If you wish to advance beyond these levels, you will need to purchase an Adventure Pass in the games settings. In-app purchases range from $4.99 to $25.99, depending on how many levels you would like to purchase at one time.
While the app generally receives positive reviews and is known for having good narration, some players have complained about the fact that they must make in-app purchases to access additional levels.

An Interesting Take On The Genre
Released by Telltale Games prior to their closure in 2018, Minecraft: Story Mode was built in the same episodic format as most Telltale products. It followed the story of a character made by the player, called Jesse, who travelled with friends to follow the well-trodden path of becoming heroes to save the world from the Wither Storm.
The rest of the story tends to revolve around adventure, finding treasure, and meeting new enemies and friends as the story progresses.
It plays like you might expect moving from area to area, combing the scene for clues and items, and then dealing with action scenes and interactions with the many other characters you might meet. First released in 2015, it was a refreshing use of the Minecraft IP to offer something that was more than a DIY builder.
