  • Join And Play On Minecraft Online Servers

So thats pretty much everything you need to know about joining a Minecraft server on every platform. All you need to do now is get your friends ready and find some exciting servers to hang out on. But, if you are still not sure about joining servers hosted by strangers, you can experience the same excitement through some of the best Minecraft adventure maps. You just have to install the custom Minecraft maps and invite your friends online to explore them in a closed circle.

As for offline players, the best Minecraft mods are still the most unique way to add new elements and enjoy the game. But do turn off the mods before joining an online server. Most servers dont allow you to use any mods other than Optifine for Minecraft. It is a performance enhancer mod that allows players to use shaders in Minecraft. That said, its time for you to start exploring the online world of Minecraft. And if you face any problems while joining a server, drop your query in the comments section, and our team will help you out.

How To Connect To Minecraft Servers With Playstation Xbox And Switch

Now that PlayStation users are able to connect to Bedrock Realms and Mojangs featured servers, many people are looking for a way to connect to third party Bedrock servers. Fortunately a method that has existed for some time for Xbox & Switch users also works flawlessly on PlayStation.

The service well be using to connect to third party servers is called BedrockConnect. The software, made by Github & reddit user Pugmatt, works by redirecting the featured servers to a menu where you can add and connect to any server you wish.

Here is how you can set it up on any console:

  • Open your system settings
  • Go to the Internet/Network category
  • Select DNS Settings
  • Switch DNS from auto to manual
  • *Change Primary DNS to 104.238.130.180
  • **Change Secondary DNS to 1.1.1.1
  • Restart your console
  • When you next launch Minecraft, clicking any of the featured servers should take you to another menu instead of connecting to the server as it would normally.
  • *This is the public BedrockConnect server provided by Pugmatt for anyone to use. Since it is a free, public server, it can get very laggy at times. Fortunately BedrockConnect is open source, so you can make your own private server for zero latency.

**You can use any public DNS provider here. Pugmatt uses Googles in his video, but I recommend CloudFlare here since Ive found it to be consistently faster in my region. Both are very reliable.

If you are still struggling, here are some helpful video guides made by Pugmatt

  • Open Minecraft on your Playstation 4. You’ll sign-in to your Microsoft Account from within Minecraft, rather than your Playstation directly.
  • Select “Sign In For Free” when prompted. Upon initial launch into the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft you’ll see a message pop up informing you of the advantages of connecting a Microsoft Account to Minecraft.

Here well use the Java Edition version on Windows. Before starting, make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your PC.

Step 1: Download the Server.jar file from Mojang to a dedicated folder, as youll be required to extract files.

Step 2: Right-click on the Server.jar file and select Open to extract a few files.

Step 3: Open the EULA file, change the eula=false line to eula=true, and then save the file. The server wont run without agreeing to the terms.

How To Find Your Minecraft Server Address On A Nintendo Switch

Your Nintendo Switch IP address is your Wi-Fi networks address. Heres how to find it to play Minecraft on your personal server:

  • Turn on your Nintendo Switch and select System Settings from the main menu.
  • Scroll down and select Internet from the left sidebar.
  • Select Advanced, located at the bottom right corner of your screen. Your networks IP address will be shown under Properties, next to IPV4 Address.
  • Minecraft: Java Edition Enable Remote Play

Keep in mind that for remote gamers to connect to your server, youll need to know two things: Your public-facing IP address assigned to your modem and the IP address of the local PC running your server. For the latter, we suggest going into the router and assigning a static IP address so the PCs address never changes.

You will also need to use port forwarding so the Minecraft packets know exactly where to go. Again, the ideal scenario is to assign a static IP address to the server PC. The port Minecraft requires is: 25565.

Essentially, the path will look something like this: incoming > modem > router > static IP address via port 25565.

“Realms” and “Servers” are different things, realms is a external world mojang keeps open 24/7 for a fee which isn’t available for PS4 until next update when we get 1.15 and 1.16 together. Servers is where people are just creating their own worlds and opening them up to others online but you can only access that world when the owner is online.

You cannot because console manufacturers doesn’t let the game to connect to custom servers. BUT, you can connect to LAN servers. Therefore with a proxy software running in any PC in the LAN of your PS4 you can access remote servers. This is the proxy software: It is pretty easy to use too. I am running a server for ps4 players where we use the proxy.
