Can’t Port Forward Or Host Game Servers With Orbi

Hi, i’ve been searching around online for quite a while now and se a lot of people have had problems with port forwarding on orbi systems. But i haven’t seen an article or forum post like with mine.

Our ISP is Frontier and they provide great internet speeds, but it couldnt reach to the top of the house. Last Christmas my parents bought me the Orbi 3-Pack with two satellites. Setup was extremely easy and the internet works like a charm! But i cannot open any ports like I used to be able to when connected to the main wifi. I host a lot of servers so this is pretty important to me. I went on orbilogin.com and added all my ports i needed but none of them work. Using sites like to check my ports repeatedley comes up as closed despite them being open on both my actual routers ports and the orbi’s.

Can someone please help? I’ve tried enabling DMZ on my Frontier router and disabling UPnP for my Orbi but nothing is working.

How to Port Forward your Minecraft Server with Verzion FiOs (or Forward Any Port)

More often than not, your computer connects to your home router which then connects to your internet service provider’s router before connecting to the internet. To find out, log in to your Verizon FiOS-G1100 Router and check the IP address on the status page. If it is not the same as your external IP address then your Verizon FiOS-G1100 is not the internet facing router. If thats the case, you may need to login to the first router and enable DMZ for the second routers IP Address.

    a) Close out that port checker that you downloaded

    b) If Minecraft was running at the time, close it out too.

    c) Open up Minecraft.

#3 If you followed my directions: Using any web based port checker, you should see the port open.

    2. Once youve logged in to your router, head over to Port Forwarding. For us, this is under Advanced -> Security, but it may vary slightly for you.

    3. Now, the important bit. Youll be presented with a scary-looking list of boxes to fill with numbers. Its not so bad.

Below is the port forwarding setup we created to run a private Minecraft server using the port numbers assigned by Minecraft.

If this doesn’t help or if there’s no update available, you have earned the right to barge in to your dealer’s office and request for, nay, demand for a new model!

    How to port forward minecraft

The only thing thats changed from my current internet setup is that i bought a new router.

My old configuration used to look like this:

ONT > Verizon FIOS Router via COAX > Ethernet > PC

    Now its

ONT > Verizon FIOS Router via COAX > ASUS Router > PC

Theyre both setup as routers and not access points so idk if that changes anything. When I just had my Verizon FIOS router, everything was fine.

Ah, so youre behind two routers. That means you need to enable port forwarding on both of them.

So basically the Verizon FIOS Router needs to forward port 25565 from the Internet to the ASUS routers IP and the ASUS router needs to forward that port to your PC. If you havent touched the Verizon configuration its probably still configured to forward that port to your PC, which it can no longer see, since that is now hidden behind the ASUS router.

Judging by the port stated above, 25565 is commonly for Minecraft. I have an Asus RT-AX88U running 3.0.0.4.384_7997 firmware. Im trying to port forward the port 25565 but I cant seem to open the port. The Internal IP Address I put down is my IPv4 Address. Theres no apply button to press but in the system logs with port forwarding, it shows 25565 to both protocols

do the same thing in your firewall settings assuming you are on windows
