Restore A Backup Created Through Multicraft
If you have used the Backup feature available in the Multicraft panel, you can restore this by following the steps below:
Way : Manually Backup Minecraft Worlds
How to backup a world in Minecraft, see here:
1. Locate the Minecraft Worlds folders.
2. Find the folders contain the worlds you would like to backup, right click it and choose Copy .
3. Go to a external hard drive or other location, right click and choose Paste to move the Minecraft worlds to another safe place.
Repeat the steps to backup Minecraft worlds you want.
Retrieving Files From A Backup
First, you’ll need to make an empty folder in your server’s files. Go to the File Manager page and click Create Folder. Now go back to the Backups page and mouse over the backup you want, then the Manage button, and click Upload to Server as zip file. Note that the name of this zip file will not bear any resemblance to the name of your backup. You will need to look at the times of your files to determine which is the newest if you have more than one backup zip in your main directory. Once you’ve found it, click on the file, then click Move. Select your empty folder from the drop down box and confirm the move. Now go into that folder, click on the zip file again, and click Unzip. You will now have a complete copy of the server’s files from the time of the backup in that folder.

What Can We Do About It
To help Minecraft players, I created a file that you can double-click to run your server! As a bonus, I added another file that helps to backup your server as well. You can think of it as a quick save before you do something crazy .

How To Backup Your Minecraft Server

Due to the fickle of running a Minecraft server you are bound to encounter an instance in where youll want to restore your world to a previous state as a result of griefing, corruption or just looking to reset your world. You can restore your world to a previous state by utilizing a backup taken by the panel backup tool.
The backup tool offered on our panel will take a backup of your main world and package it into a zip labeled with the name of the world. Backups are automatically taken every day but can also be manually done with the click of a button.
Once you have created a backup of your world, a copy will be kept on the server with the name of the main world . As you create multiple backups , the old backup will be renamed to world1.zip.

Accessing The Backups Area
1. Go on your server’s control panel and then Stop your server. This will ensure that your backup contains all up-to-date files.
2. Once your server is fully offline, on your control panel at the left-side click the Backups tab.
3. You’re now in the backups area. From here, you can make a backup with the left half of the page, or view and manage your backups on the right half.
Add Your Minecraft Directory To Local Backup Tools
Whether youre playing Minecraft on a Windows machine paired with Windows Home Servers backup tool, a Mac paired with Time Machine, or a Linux box setup with Crash Plan, make sure your Minecraft system directory is either directly added to the backup list or within a sub-directory that is already backed up.

Why Not Use Tar Directly
If you use tar while the server is running, you will likely get an error like this because Minecraft autosaves the world periodically:
tar: /some/path/here/world/region/r.1.11.mca: file changed as we read it
To fix this problem, the backup script disables autosaving with the save-off Minecraft command before running tar and then re-enables autosaving after tar is done.

Using The File Manager To Download Multiple Files Or To Complete A Full Server Backup
Navigate to “Customize” > “File Manager”
Select every file and/or folder that you wish to save
After selecting everything you want to save, select the blue “Create Archive” button that appears towards the top-right of the File Manager
A new archive will be created it will start with “archive-” and end with the .zip file extension
Locate the archive file that was created and select the green download button on the right side of the file manager
The archive should download locally
Once the download is complete, consider renaming the file so you do not lose track of which server it belongs to and what date the backup is from
Locating The Critical Files
The first thing you need to know about backing up Minecraft files is that there is an enormous difference between the Minecraft launcher and the Minecraft system files.
The Minecraft launcher is the application you start the game with and is labeled as the following for the three supported operating systems:

This launcher is also a tool that helps you customize pregame options such as which profile you wish to use. It communicates with the Minecraft servers, it helps you log into your account, and it launches the game. Backing up the launcher does nothing and this is where many players discover that theyve missed the important files.
The actual game files, including game libraries, logs, and most importantly your saved games, are typically located in a completely different spot than your launcher.
For the three primary operating systems they are located in the following places by default:

The only time you will not find the Minecraft system files in these locations is if you are using an alternative third-party launching tool or you have manually changed your game profile to point to a new directory location.

Where The Mincraft Worlds Stored
Before backing up, please ensure the Minecraft worlds location.
In Windows computers, to find the Minecraft Worlds location:
Press Win plus R key combination, type %appdata%\.minecraft and hit Enter to open the Minecraft Worlds Files. Usually, Minecraft worlds located at: C:\Users\user name\%appdata%\.minecraft\saves\
In Mac OS, find the Minecraft files location:
In the Finder, on the Go menu, select Go to Folder, then type: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft, and hit Enter to open Minecraft Worlds folders.
In your Android Phones, it may be located: /sdcard/games/com.mojang/
And Minecraft Windows 10 edition saves the worlds to: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MinecraftUWP_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\games\com.mojang\minecraftWorlds
The Minecraft folders contains folders, each folder means a Minecraft world you created. A Minecraft world is composed of an arbitrary number of Region files, and a level file. The level file defines the metadata for the world, while the region files define the blocks that shape the terrain. Besides, the levelname.txt store the name you created in Minecraft.

What Is Contained In The World Backup
A world backup created by Multicraft is a .zip file and contains all the data from within your /world folder. These files contain the following:
- All player data .
- world data .
- world_nether data .
- world_the_end data .
World backups will not contain anything else about the server. Meaning it won’t contain any mods, plugins, server/mod/plugin configuration files, and resource packs. When creating a backup, a file with one of the following names will be created in your server:
- world.zip, if this is the first backup you’ve taken
- world.1.zip, if world.zip already exists.
- world.2.zip, if world.1.zip already exists. This file will be replaced when making further backups, so be aware that once a backup gets named this, that backup will only be available until the next backup is taken.
I Just Want To Save A Single File/folder Such As My World What Is The Easiest Way To Do That
For saving your world folder, or really any other single file/folder , we suggest using Prisma’s archive feature. Be sure that you’re logged into Prisma and that you are managing the correct server, then proceed with the following steps.
Navigate to “Customize” > “File Manager”
Locate the file or folder you wish to save and select it
After selecting it, select the blue “Create Archive” button that appears towards the top-right of the File Manager

Sync With A Cloud Based Tool
Although we have Minecraft set to back up with the aforementioned method , our favorite Minecraft backup trick is to move the Minecraft system directory right into the root directory of Dropbox .
Not only does this automate the backup process completely but it also means that your creations can be synced across computers to enable you to work on the same world whether youre sitting at home on your desktop computer or traveling with your laptop.
The easiest way to enable this kind of syncing is to simply copy your Minecraft directory into your Dropbox folder, run the launcher, and then edit the profile entry so that it no longer points at the old directory, e.g. /AppData/Roaming/.minecraft/, and now points at the new directory, e.g. /My Documents/Dropbox/.minecraft.
