How To Make A Minecraft Server In Hpanel
Setting up a Minecraft server with Hostinger has never been easier. Once you have chosen your plan and made your purchase, log in to your Hostinger account. From there, well take you through the rest of the steps:
Congratulations, your Minecraft server is now live.
How To Host A Minecraft Server For Free
The process of creating and setting up a free Minecraft server is almost the same as for the paid version.
First, you have to find a free hosting provider that will allow you to host your data on its hardware. This isnât exactly easy, as not many people like sharing their property with others for free.
Moreover, youâll be forced to use a non-official Minecraft server application created by a third party. The same goes for the game client, since the original game isnât free and thereâs no way to override this.
If youâre ok with all of the above, you just need to download the Bukkit-server and launch it via the Forge Minecraft server app on your free hosting. The method is identical to the one we explained above for the non-free options.
Connect To The Server And Create A World
Playing Minecraft on the same machine running your server isnt a good idea given the resources needed to run both. Doing so will likely create a laggy experience for everyone. We suggest running Minecraft on another PC if possible.
Step 1: Select Multiplayer.
Step 2: Check the box next to Do Not Show This Screen Again, and then select Proceed if this is the first time youre nagged about multiplayer.
Step 3: Select Add Server.
Step 4: Enter the server name.
Step 5: To allow remote players, enter the public-facing address assigned to your modem, along with the port. For example, the IP address would be something like 126.96.36.199:25565.
For local network play, enter the server PCs network address. You likely dont need to add the port.
Step 6: Select Done to complete.

Connecting To Your Server
Players can join your server by following these steps:
If you encounter any problems, check if your server is accessible by entering your public IP address into the Minecraft Server Status Checker.
Running A Server From Home Vs Buying Hosting
Hosting your own home-based server means that people can potentially find your IP-address and ultimately be able to hack into your entire system. If you are concerned about exposing your network to anyone out there, you could look into finding a good hosting provider instead.
Here are some advantages of using a third-party hosting program:
- You dont have to worry about replacing equipment periodically or managing the hardware
- If something goes wrong, you can check with expert support to help you troubleshoot
- Hosted servers are already set up and are easy to use and manage

Minecraft: Java Edition Enable Remote Play
Keep in mind that for remote gamers to connect to your server, youll need to know two things: Your public-facing IP address assigned to your modem and the IP address of the local PC running your server. For the latter, we suggest going into the router and assigning a static IP address so the PCs address never changes.
You will also need to use port forwarding so the Minecraft packets know exactly where to go. Again, the ideal scenario is to assign a static IP address to the server PC. The port Minecraft requires is: 25565.
Essentially, the path will look something like this: incoming > modem > router > static IP address via port 25565.

How To Launch The Java Edition Server
Instead of right-clicking on the sever.jar file to launch the server, we can create a BAT file and insert a modified command to help the server run more smoothly.
Step 1: Right-click within the folder and select New followed by Text Document on the pop-up menus.
Step 2: Rename the file so you can recognize it later.
Step 3: Open the file and enter the following command: java -Xmx1024M -Xms1024M -jar server.jar pause
The first two numbers allocate memory to the server, while pause keeps the server window open.
Step 4: Save the file and then rename its extension to .bat .
Step 5: Double-click the new BAT file to launch the server.

Everything Else You Need To Know About Creating A Minecraft Server
There are a few things to know before you run off to create your own persistent online world.
If you want to customize your world, the text file server properties in the Minecraft Server folder can be tweaked to your liking.
If you plan on having friends from outside the house join your server, the code theyll need is your IPv4 plus some extra digits.
To find your IPv4 number, just search what is my IPv4 number? on Google. Each IPv4 number is specific to each computer, so ours will be different to yours.
You should get something like 100.20.511.329 .
Take your IPv4 and add a colon followed by 25565 so you end with something that looks like the following:
Your version of the above number is your server address other players will need to enter when joining.
Finally, to allow other players to join you need to forward your router ports to allow access from other parties. YouTuber Voizdev has a great explanation and walkthrough on this should you find yourself a little confused.

Check You Have The Right Hardware And Requirements
Before you start setting up your own Minecraft server, check to make sure your hardware meets at least these minimum requirements:
- 1GB , or up to 35GB on most operating systems
- 2GB on Windows Vista/7/8/10
These minimum requirements are for the server only. If youâre also planning to play on the same computer, youâll need to account for the gameâs minimum requirements.
Running A Minecraft Server Outside Home
If you host Minecraft server from home system without a clear understanding of what you are doing, means youre exposing your home network to the world. If you want to play Minecraft video game without hosting a private server, you can check out the public server options in the Minecraft forum. If youd rather not take that risk and still want to manage a server, you can check out Minecraft server hosting provider in the Minecraft forum or other websites. You need to pay a monthly or annual fee for this type of server.

Why Having Your Own Server Is Beneficial
Backup services are everywhere nowadays and its becoming cheaper and easier than ever to take advantage of automated backup systems.
But along with the proliferation of providers comes a glut of bad actors looking for a way into that stored data.
Those bad actors have been fairly successful in recent years as well. Data breaches exposed over 4.1 billion records in the first six months of 2019 alone.
With your own server setup, you have the ability to securely configure your own private server, away from the crowds of bad actors. You also have full control over your data and access to that data.
Additionally, in many cases, running your own server can be less expensive than using comparable backup providers.
Where you decide to host your server locally or through a server provider will depend on both your needs for that server and your technological comfort level.
For example, if youre looking to create a media server for your household, thats something that can be a very useful home server application.
However, if youre looking to have a server that others outside of your household are able to access, a home server may not be powerful or secure enough to meet that requirement.
How To Play Minecraft With Friends Online
The second way is to create a LAN server on your computer, where you can then invite friends. The only requirement is that you must be constantly in the game in order for everything to work. For Java Edition, the maximum number of players is 8. Only Java Edition clients can join this server.
For all other platforms, everything is easier. You can play simultaneously using your phone, the version for Windows 10, as well as consoles. Also, for a LAN server on these platforms, you can set the maximum number of players up to 30. This is done using the / setmaxplayers command, which you need to register in the chat. The more people on the server, the more powerful hardware you need. And the quality of the connection will depend on the internet speed of the host and the distance between him and connected players.

Start A Free Minecraft Server With Aternos
Aternos is another free platform that offers private Minecraft servers to players. Just like Minehut, setting up a server with Aternos is a breeze. All you have to do is create a free account, add a server, and configure it up to your liking.
To get started, first visit aternos.org. Then click on the Play button located in the bottom-right corner.
Here, you can sign up for a free account or log in to an existing one. You can also sign in using your Google account if you want. Note that specifying an email address is optional, and you can create your account using just a username and password.
Once you have logged in to your account, click on the Create a server button.
Next, specify the server name and the description. You can also choose between Java Edition and Bedrock/Pocket Edition here. Note that, unlike Minehut, Aternos doesn’t support cross-platform play and you’ll have to create separate servers for both editions. Click on the Create button to continue.
On the server dashboard, you’ll have the option to start your server. To manage your server, select an option from the left sidebar. You can switch between Bedrock and Java editions by switching to the Software tab.
Likewise, the Console and File options allow players to access the console and file manager respectively. You can generate new worlds or backup your existing world using the Worlds and Backups option.
