Does Adding More Ram Improve Minecraft Performance
Yes, having more RAM does affect the performance. However, its impact isnt as large as the impact of a CPU or a GPU would have on the game.
If you are running either the vanilla Minecraft, or a game with some shader and texture mods, then the game should run quite fine with 2-4 GB RAM.
In any case, the following video shows how the RAM affects the performance of the game.
You will notice here that the game runs butter smooth even with just 2 GB allocated RAM even with shaders on.

Best gaming headset: don’t ignore in-game audio
One of the biggest advantages to putting together your own budget gaming PC build is the ability to essentially choose every single component in the system. Whats The Best Cheap Laptop For Running Minecraft
Claire wants to buy her son a laptop to run Minecraft with Pixelmon mods. Her budget is £300, but shes willing to spend a more
I have just read your 2015 guide, Whats the best laptop for running Minecraft?, and wondered if you could update it for 2016. My 10-year-old son adores Minecraft, and his Chromebook isnt cutting it. Hes really into Pixelmon, so I was thinking about spending approx £300, though Im willing to go up a bit if it gets something that will grow with him. He is using the web and the usual office tools a lot, and hes increasingly keen to learn coding. Claire
This has been a common query for three or four years, and when buying a Minecraft machine, the basic rules never change. First, get the fastest processor you can, within your budget. Second, go for the fastest graphics card you can afford. Shop around, but I doubt youll find anything under £300, unless you are willing to buy a refurbished or second-hand laptop.

What About Intel Nucs
For as long as weve published this guide, weve recommended some iteration of Intels NUC mini PC . These systems, which come both as preconfigured PCs and as build-your-own bare-bones models, have louder-than-normal fans but offer good performance and all the ports and expandability that most people need.
We expect to recommend NUCs in the future, but this is a bad time to buy one. Older NUCs with 10th-generation Intel processors are available, but newer, 11th-generation NUCs with much-improved integrated GPUs still arent available from most retailers. We think those newer models will be worth buying when you can get them, but one of our other picks will serve your needs better in the short term.

Cheap Pc Build Parts: The Cpu
While NVIDIA wins in the GPU category, AMD dominates at providing superb CPUs for cheap gaming computers. Its Ryzen chips offer spectacular bang for your buck. Ryzen R3 2200G posits itself perfectly for home theater PC and light gaming use.
With AMD Vega 8 graphics onboard, it’s feasible to use the Ryzen R3 2200G sans GPU.
Though integrated graphics typically struggle even dialed back to low, the Ryzen 2200G manages around 30FPS in most titles at 1080p, and even hits 60FPS on recent but less demanding titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive .
The Ryzen 3 1200 performs roughly the same as the 2200G and is an excellent option if you don’t need the onboard graphics. Since the 2200G doesn’t quite output graphic on par with a GT 1030, I suggest pairing it with a dedicated GPU for better FPS in PUBG, Minecraft, and Fortnite.
Ultimately, the 2200G is faster than the 1200, so I suggest sticking with the Ryzen 3 2200G.
- Ryzen 5 2400G: Performs slightly better than the 2200G, but not up to the level of a GT 1030.
- Ryzen 5 1600: An AMD consideration if you don’t need integrated graphics, and is my CPU of choice. I use it in conjunction with a GTX 1060 3GB.
- Intel Pentium G4560: A dual-core CPU which touts hyperthreading, thus competing with budget quad-core CPUs.
Winner: AMD Ryzen 3 2200G

What Do You Need To Buy To Build A Pc
However, if you want to have an exact idea of what parts you will need in order to build a computer, the list below will take you through each one:
Parts Are Needed to Build A PC for Gaming
While you can put in all sorts of different parts into your computer, there is a core set of parts you will need in order to build a PC. They are:
CPU: The CPU is the brain of your computer. It handles all of the processes, calculations, and tasks of your computer. More than any other component, it will determine the speed of your computer. However, if youre building a gaming computer, your CPU will take a backseat to your video card in terms of which component is the most responsible for performance. But either way, you need a decent CPU if you want to build a legit computer.
CPU Cooler/Fan: The CPU fan or cooler dissipates heat from your CPU to help keep it cool. Every CPU comes with a stock fan , but you can always buy a bigger and better air cooler from a third-party manufacturer as well. Liquid cooling is also an option for building a PC, but if youre working with a tight budget, youll want to stick with an air cooler.
Motherboard: The motherboard operates as the main hub of the PC. Its where all of your components connect to so that they can communicate with each other.

Increasing The Amount Of Ram In Minecraft
If you are experiencing lags with your game, particularly if you set the graphics settings to very high with texture and shader mods installed, then you may need to allocate more RAM to the game.
To allocate more RAM to Minecraft you need to follow these steps:
In the Edit Installation settings window, perform the following steps:
Do not go beyond the amount of RAM you have in your PC!
In fact, if you have 8 GB DDR4 RAM, do not allocate more than 5-6 GB of RAM to the game. The rest of 2-3 GB of RAM should be left reserved for the system and background apps.

Should You Build A Gaming Pc Or Get A Console
No just no. Do not get a console. Are you kidding me? Im offended!
Joking aside, there are two sides to this question as well. Yes, I am a diehard PC fan. But one of my favorite video games happens to be Madden. And, up until Madden 2019, Madden wasnt available on PC. So, if I wanted to play Madden in the past, I also had to have an XBox One.
Or, if you want to play a game like Red Dead Redemption 2, youll need a console to play it, as it isnt available on PC If youre a baseball fan and you want to play MLB The Show, your only option is to get a PlayStation 4.
So, before you go out and build a new budget gaming computer, you need to make sure that you understand that certain games arent available on PC. But, at the same time, what you lose on a console, you gain on a PC. There are also plenty of games that are exclusive to PC, like, for instance, League of Legends
And, overall, the in-game experience on a PC is better than it is on a console. Thats simply because on the PC you can play with better visuals, more detailed graphics, and smoother gameplay. And, of course, on average, PC games tend to be cheaper and there are also a lot more of them.
So, while a console will cost you less upfront , if you buy a lot of games, in the long run, a PC will win out. Ultimately, though, if youre like me, you just get both and enjoy the best of both worlds. Problem solved.
